Venn - 'Aquaheart'
Friday, October 23, 2015
Alternative rock powerhouse and Toronto native VENN (a.k.a. Nneka Atto) is an artist of many faces. Her eclectic music style, brought to life by her captivating contralto vocals fuses rock with elements from pop, experimental, folk, and electronica to create a distinct, unforgettable sound.

"We all experience many storms in life, sailing through blissful highs then crashing into devastating lows. These storms can be terrifying, some may even cause you to lose hope and give up, entirely. 'Aquaheart' is about those people who stand by you and help you "weather the storm". These are the people who give you strength; urge you to keep going; and provide you with safe shelter. A much-needed anchor."

Monday, February 23, 2015
Toronto, Ontario Canada natives DaniXO are currently in the Jamsterdam top 10 with their track titled "Circles". The singer/songwriter Danielle Doucette says the inspiration is drawn from the 70's and 80's with the vocal of the 90's creating candy for your ears.

Check out their transcending video for single "Faster".

Who Doesn't Enjoy Tunes About Beer??
Friday, January 17, 2014
Hey readers!

It was called to my attention earlier that Chan Man from Mississauga-based rock band, Dystonia has also joined a band (a Streetsville staple), Tomahawk Love!

For all you Dystonia fans, as well as local music lovers across the Mississauga/Toronto area, I'm sure you would love Tomahawk Love- I saw them play live last year in Brampton, but I've never seen this new lineup, which consists of: Kevin McGilp- Vocals & rhythm guitar; Jay McCurdy - Vocals & rhythm guitar; Mathew Brown - Lead guitar; Christian Marasovic (aka Chan Man of Dystonia) - Bass & vocals; Michael Amaral - Drums.

Check out their single about beer: CLICK HERE
(I unintentionally rhymed right there...)

Here's a list of upcoming confirmed shows you don't want to miss:

Saturday, January 18: Tomahawk Love at Cuhuclainn's, Mississauga
Friday, January 31st: Tomahawk Love at The Local Option, Toronto
Friday, February 7th: Dystonia at The Local Option, Toronto
Saturday, February 15: Tomahawk Love at Cuchulainns, Mississauga
Saturday, March 22: Tomahawk Love at Cuchulainn's, Mississauga
Friday, April 18: Tomahawk Love at Cuhchulainn's, Mississauga

I've seen all of these talented musicians play at Cuchulainn's Irish pub on Matt Zaddy's Open Mic night on Tuesdays, so I can actually imagine how insane it will be to see these 5 talented musicians in the same band!  Oh, and if you dig beards, guitarist, Mathew Brown has got one that will leave you with beard-envy (well, I hear it's a guy thing, anyways).  This beard is a must-see.  Go for the beard.

Follow both Dystonia and Tomahawk Love on Facebook for more details!

Bike Thiefs - Don't Worry
Friday, March 15, 2013
Bike Thiefs are a grammatically inept three-piece rock band from Mississauga/Etobicoke who need your time and money. With influences ranging from Ween to Tool to My Morning Jacket to The Pixies to Queens of the Stone Age to Tom Waits to Weezer to System of a Down it was just easier to say rock/pop.

"Don't Worry" from their album titled "Loot Bag" hits #1 this week on Jamsterdam Radio. Tune in daily for the Jamsterdam Top 10 at 10am EST and midnight.
