Super stoked to share this with you: I had the opportunity to interview the artist who is currently holding down the #1 spot on the Jamsterdam Radio Top 10 Countdown with his track "Soul Kiid", California-based rapper, DizzyStylz, via email! Here it is:

JGIC: What inspired you to get into music?
DS: I think like anyone, the simplest thing that inspires a person to do music is because someone they listen to or want to be like. Mine was Old School Eminem.
JGIC: How did you start?
DS: Off two boom boxes with a Walkie- Talkie Haha!
JGIC: That's awesome!! How did you come up with the stage name "DizzyStylz"?
DS: DizzyStylz came from how people described me back in school I was always changing up my “styles” or the way I rhymed and so it kinda just came about.
JGIC: What are your top 3 fondest moments being an artist?
DS: First time being on the mic, first time being on stage, and finally getting my own in-home recording studio.
JGIC: What is the toughest part of being an artist?
DS: Building a fan base, and gaining “reach” is a very tough challenge as an independent artist.
JGIC: Favorite artists?
DS: I don’t really have one but if I had to give a shout out, it would be to the artists in the I.E. (Inland Empire) because there is A LOT of talent out there.
JGIC. I have seen one too many musicians with jealous girlfriends because the stereotype about musicians is that chicks dig them, so of course, there would be potential for groupies hanging around them. If you are/were in a relationship, how would you deal with groupies?
DS: I tell my wife all the time “Don’t Argue with the Rachets” lol. I don’t pay attention to attention craving ladies so last thing I want is her giving them the attention they’re seeking. I have what I want. My advice, be disciplined and realize what you have. You don’t want to go through the drama when there are more important things to worry about like being successful.
JGIC: That's really good to hear- for all the artist wives/girlfriends out there acting all paranoid, reading that could hopefully help them maybe trust their men more.
As an avid music lover, if you could form a “dream band” with any musicians of your choice, deceased or living, who would, you choose?
DS: Can’t say I’d form a band but if I had a chance I would definitely collab with Michael Jackson, Linkin Park, and Slim Shady.
JGIC: Any shout outs?

DS: Yea, to aspiring artists, remember the danger in music is not making something people won’t listen to. It’s never realizing that the people who aren’t listening to you aren’t important.
