Mohawk Radio - 'Hocus Pocus'
Wednesday, October 14, 2015
Mohawk Radio is an award winning Manchester based band, injecting their own unique style into the modern rock scene. Powerful female vocals complimented by engaging melodies and backed by dynamic guitars with a strong, driving rhythm section.

Voted the best band in Parliament’s Rock the House competition, Mohawk Radio continues to get rave reviews from industry professionals, along with continuous air play on both Manchester and international airwaves; BBC Manchester, Real Radio XS, FM 89.1, Pure FM, Mix 106.1 and a recent performance on ITV.

Not only do their two EP’s continue to make a great impact on the music scene, their legendary live performances have been described as an ‘energetic memorable throwback to true rock and roll’. Playing all over the UK, some of their performances include; sold out Deaf Institute, Academy 3, Dancehouse, American Ambassador’s Residence, Sat in a Field Festival, Blackthorn Music Festival and Headlander Festival. Lovingly described as the moment when Cher met Metallica, Mohawk Radio are uniquely hell bent on rock n roll domination.

'Hocus Pocus' debuted at #9 on the Jamsterdam Radio Top 10 on October 14th, 2015. Tune in for the daily Top 10 at 10am and midnight Toronto time.

Old House Playground is a three piece contemporary blues/alt-rock band with roots in the songwriting culture of traditional Greek folk music.

The band consists of Tryfon Lazos on guitars and vocals, Andreas Venetantes on drums and percussion, and Jago Furnas on bass and backing vocals.

In 2009, Tryfon and Andreas together with Conor Loughran (ex bass player), moved from Athens to Manchester to experiment with new musical paths and forms of expression.

September 2014 finds the band with a new bass player. Jago Furnas moved from London to Manchester to join the band and his musicality has proved inspiring. Sugar House’s production has also been key in moving forward. Their latest EP, 'The Great Escape' was released on 22nd June 2015, is the result of this ongoing commitment, and strips down the band’s sound. Melodies are more exposed, there is a fluency to the band’s work, old boundaries have been broken, and new forms created. The new songs have been given airplay around the world and received excellent reviews around blogs and online music press.

The band’s new single “21st Century Glory” is to be released on the 16th of November as digital download but can be heard during the New Music Show airing daily at 8am and 8pm on Jamsterdam Radio.

The Slow Readers Club - 'Plant the Seed'
Tuesday, October 6, 2015
Manchester is a city synonymous with guitar-driven indie with a rich musical heritage that is hard to ignore. It has arguably given us as many seminal bands as London, whilst also producing producing plenty that feel all too familiar in comparison to others; stale even. Something which makes The Slow Readers Club even more crucial to the city's musical landscape.

Forgoing the arrogant guitar-based swagger of so many of their contemporaries, The Slow Readers Club are making waves with their own brand of brooding electro-indie. It might not be the stereotypical sound of contemporary Manchester, but The Slow Readers Club are breathing new life in to tired lungs and are very much the band Manchester's clamouring for.

Forthcoming single 'Plant the Seed' is a pulsating slice of electro pop with an infectious vocal hook and has already drawn comparisons with Depeche Mode and The National. The bands last four singles have enjoyed airplay on BBC 6 Music and XFM and featured three times as XFMs shock of the new. The single 'Don't Mind' was featured on Steve Lamacqs roundtable on BBC 6 Music.

PEUR - 'Future Architects EP'
Thursday, August 13, 2015
An outstanding, roaring, strong, alternative rock band hailing from Manchester, England. Ferociously impressive creating rock music that is huge with music talent, massive in sound and very diverse between aggressive yet melodic rock tempo platforms.

Peur, the French word for fear and pronounced "per" are Joe Lomax (guitar/vocals), Ryan Greenhalgh (bass) and Sam Tempest (percussion). This Manchester trio formed in 2013 and released their first single “Anarchy” and debut EP “We Can Build Astronauts” that same year. In 2014, Peur hit the road gigging with Dubai band EYE (Empty Yard Experiment), DZ Deathrays, Allusondrugs, and Canadian rockers, Dearly Beloved. The band also released the singles “This Will Destroy You” and "Explosions". The latter being the first single from their upcoming EP "Future Architects". In early 2015, Peur released their second single from the "Future Architects EP, Hollow Skies”.

The band will be performing at this years T in the Park Festival, Scotland, and are also set to headline GeckGo Extreme Sports Festival 2015, South Wales.

With influences ranging from Biffy Clyro to Nine Inch Nails, its clear Peur have created a new sound and vision of music with their captivating and unique style, aggressive yet melodic rock tempo and their hard core alternative rock sound making them a stand out band on the verge of huge success.
